The nearest attraction within strolling distance- Kyoto Imperial Palace

Kyoto Imperial Palace, located right in front of the hotel, was renowned as the main residence of the imperial family before the capital was moved to Tokyo from Kyoto. It is an especially popular place to visit for tourists in spring and autumn due to the special periods when it is opened to the public.
However, it is usually enjoyed year round by Kyoto residents as a place for recreation and relaxation. We highly recommend you visit this spot and enjoy it in your own way, perhaps by taking a gentle stroll or by simply sitting on a bench reading a book.

Take a stroll in the hotel garden, designed by Jihei Ogawa, a notable Japanese-style garden designer

The garden on the hotel premises is an authentic Japanese-style strolling pond garden, constructed for the residence of a court noble in the late Edo Period. Following this, it was reconstructed in the 1920ユs by Jihei Ogawa, who also designed the gardens for Heian Shrine and Murin-an. It has a breathtakingly beautiful composition with a range of color in its fauna and flora that changes spectacularly according to the season.
